Caring for gold-plated rings – how to look after them

Gold-plated rings are a little more difficult to care for and maintain than silver or gold rings. This is because they are made of silver with a thin gold coating. This coating does not tolerate much dirt, grime or wear.

These are rings that you should use with care. You can easily use them for everyday use or for those occasions where you think they really fit in. You just have to be careful not to use them for sports, during cleaning or other activities that put a lot of wear and tear on the jewelry . Because then the ring will quickly lose its gold plating.

If discoloration occurs, you should use a soft cloth and a polish that is not too abrasive on the thin layer of gold. Be very careful not to wear the gold off.
